Simon Coveney is an experienced political leader with over 26 years in public service, encompassing roles in the National Parliament, European Parliament, and the Irish Government across five ministries. 

He is co-founder and director of CaraDem, with a particular interest in post-conflict approaches, coalition government, sustainable energy and development.

He has served as Deputy Prime Minister and has a proven track record in strategic leadership, articulate communication, and building professional relationships. His commitment to public interest and positive global change is evident in his extensive work on critical issues, including climate action, foreign direct investment, and humanitarian access. 

Coveney has held key ministerial positions, including Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Defence, and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, where he developed initiatives such as an Irish Industrial Strategy for Offshore Wind and a plan for the decarbonisation and digitalisation of the economy. He played a significant role as the Chief Brexit Negotiator and has been vocal on international conflicts while promoting peacekeeping and women’s participation in security discussions. Post-politics, Coveney has joined the EY Geopolitical Strategy Team as a consultant.
