This panel will brings together perspectives from Moldova, Armenia and Ukraine to explore what it takes to protect democratic processes in contexts facing foreign interference, disinformation and growing political polarisation. Drawing on direct, recent experience from the ground, the discussion will examine how democracy support can move beyond well-intentioned commitments and better respond to the realities of countries under pressure.

As the EU shapes its future democracy support through the European Democracy Shield and upcoming budget negotiations, the panel will discuss what lessons can be learned from those working to strengthen information integrity, public trust and democratic resilience where these challenges are already playing out.
