The International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA), the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), the European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), and Carnegie Europe are proud to announce the 11th edition of the International Democracy Day Brussels Conference.
This year’s theme explores the critical connection between inclusive democracy, Europe’s security, its global partnerships, and the cohesion of democratic institutions.
What’s on the agenda?

- Inclusion at the Heart of Political Life – Insights from the WYDE Political Parties Project.
- Investing in values – How the next EU budget can strengthen democracy.
- The Global Gateway and external action – Strategies for democratic cooperation.
- Youth participation, civic resilience, and media freedom – Tools for sustainable governance.
- Spotlight on the EU–CELAC Summit 2025 – Advancing democracy through partnerships.
The conference will feature:
- Keynote addresses from EU Commissioners and national leaders
- Lightning talks presenting new data and democratic innovation
- Expert panels and regional perspectives from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe
