Who can attend the IDD Brussels Conference?
Participation is open to representatives from institutions, civil society organisations, think tanks, academia, media, and other stakeholders interested in democracy, governance, and EU external action.
Is registration required?
Yes, all participants must register online in advance. Due to limited capacity, registration is subject to approval. After you complete your registration, you will receive an email within approximately one week confirming whether your place has been approved.
Is there a participation fee?
No, attendance is free of charge.
Are travel and accommodation costs covered for participants attending the conference?
Participants who register to attend the conference as audience are kindly advised that travel and accommodation costs are not covered by the organisers. All attendees are responsible for arranging and funding their own transport and accommodation during the event.
Will the sessions be streamed online?
No, the conference will not be livestreamed. Participation is in-person only.
Will interpretation be provided?
No interpretation services are available for the moment. Please note that sessions will be conducted in English.
Where does the conference take place?
Please note that the conference will take place in two different venues on two different days:
- Day 1 (18 September): Renaissance Hotel (Rue du Parnasse 19)
- Day 2 (19 September): European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) (Rue Belliard 99/101, Brussels)
The venues are approximately one minute walking distance from each other. You will need to check in separately each day (Day 1 in the afternoon and Day 2 in the morning), so please allow time for registration on both dates.
Can I attend only part of the programme?
Yes, you are welcome to attend either or both days. Please indicate your availability in the registration form.
What documents do I need to bring?
You are required to show a valid ID to access the conference. The check-in process differs slightly for each location — please refer to the venue requirements in the VENUE section.
