MARTIN SEYCHELL
Deputy Director-General for International Partnerships, European Commission
Martin Seychell is a senior European Commission official with extensive experience in international development, health, environment, governance and public policy. Since June 2020, he has served as Deputy Director-General in the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), where he is responsible for Directorates G, covering Human Development, Migration, Governance and Peace, and R, covering Resources.
Prior to joining the European Commission, he held senior positions in Malta’s public administration. From 2001 to 2006, he was Head of Directorate for Foodstuffs and Chemicals at the Malta Standards Authority, followed by his appointment as Director of Environment Protection at the Malta Environment and Planning Authority, a position he held from 2006 to 2011.
